Featured on their debut album Dugong Pilipino, the song blended soulful Tagalog lyrics with the melody of the Japanese hit “Kanpai” by Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi. Its themes of eternal love made it an instant jukebox classic, capturing the hearts of working-class Filipinos and kickstarting April Boy Regino’s highly successful music career.
